Nexus 5 hardware specs leaked by Canadian carrier Wind

The Nexus 5 leaks are coming hard and fast even as the rumoured launch date of October 31 approaches. This time round, a Canadian carrier put forth a Nexus 5 pre-registration page for a brief period, before pulling it offline. Before it went offline, though, the page gave us a great look at the specifications.Canadian carrier Wind seemed to have erroneously put the page online before Google’s official announcement, but the page will be back up online in a few days for sure. We’ve earlier seen some specifications leak and FCC filings, and the Wind page validates most of these.

According to Wind, the Nexus 5 will sport a 4.95-inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixels of resolution and will weigh in at about 130 grams. The smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM, and run Android’s latest iteration 4.4 KitKat out of the box. The phone will be available in 16GB and 32GB variations. On the camera front, the smartphone will feature an 8-megapixel rear and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. Also on board is Bluetooth 4.0 and the device will also support 802.11ac Wi-Fi. The Nexus 5 will have both microUSB and SlipPort enabled. Here’s the interesting bit: according to the listing, the power and volume buttons of the Nexus 5 will be made out of ceramic.Earlier this week we saw press renders of the Nexus 5 leak, which gave us a good look at the white variant of the Nexus 5. Quite like the Nexus 4 version, the white Nexus 5 will also have an only white back-panel with a black front. The date of the release is being touted to be either 31 October or November 1, according to rumours. Thanks to an erroneous Play Store goof-up by Google, we also know that the company plans to price the 16GB Nexus 5 at $349.
