While Micromax disappointed many by not including a 1080p display in its Canvas 4, the company seems to be rectifying its mistakes with a Canvas smarphone that is supposedly in the works right now. A tweet by MMXNewcaster, known to leak Micromax-related info, says that the next smartphone from Micromax dubbed Canvas Turbo A250 will sport a 1080p full HD display, in keeping with the current trend. The tweet reads, “Micromax Canvas Turbo A250 to be the First Full HD (1080p) phone from Micromax. To sport Quad Core processor." This isn’t all. The leak also shows a teaser image of this newest smartphone from Micromax. The leaked image doesn’t reveal much except for a black bar shape outline which is imprinted with CanvasTurbo. Apart from the 1080p display and quad-core processor, nothing much is known about the smartphone. However, one shouldn't be surprised to see some top-of-the-line specs.
Canvas Turbo teaser
Over the past one year, expectations from Micromax have increased by manifold. The leading Indian smartphone maker is second behind Samsung in the Indian market, with a share of 22 percent. However, we haven’t seen a full HD smartphone from Micromax yet. On the other hand, competing devices such as the WickedLeak Wammy Passion Z+, Spice Pinnacle FHD and the most recent Elife E6 from Gionee come with 1080p displays.
Micromax has been bolstering its Canvas series recently and is now using the name even for tablets, retiring the Funbook brand name. The 8-inch Canvas Tab P650 was launched for Rs 16,500 in India last month. Some of its features are an 8-inch IPS display, 5MP rear camera, 2MP front-facing camera, 16GB on-board memory, and support for 3G and Wi-Fi.
