The number of leaks and rumours surrounding the HTC One Max have been rising by the day. A new set of reports now point to the launch of the new device being around the corner. The first report, coming from the Wall Street Journal, claims that the company is looking at holding an event on October 15, which might be its international debut. Another set of invitations have also made their way to Engadget. The first invitation, in Taiwanese, states that the company is planning an event on October 18. Another invitation, according to the second report, came later about another event slated to be held in Hong Kong on October 16. The invitation, however, did not specifically say that HTC was planning the events for the One Max. A translation of the same, according to the second report, reveals that the company is saying that “One finger opens up a big view. You are invited to immerse in the sound with us.” This could be in reference to the supposed fingerprint sensor, the massive screen and BoomSound front stereo speakers expected to be on the phone.

Going by the earlier reports, it seems likely like the new One Max will come with a 5.9-inch display, an UltraPixel camera as well as an Android operating system integrated with HTC’s Blinkfeed user interface. The resolution of the display should be in the 1080p category, and leaked images have hinted at the new handset’s design mirroring the one seen on the HTC One and One mini, only on a larger scale.
If the invitation is indeed about the One Max, then we will be seeing the first true smartphone/tablet hybrid from HTC. While events in Taiwan and Hong Kong have been confirmed, it should be noted that there is still no word on a US, European or Indian launch for the new handset.
