By the end of August, Samsung and Genius had launched tablets for kids, and now Binatone jumps now adds to the list of tablets crafted for children. Binatone has built its first Android tablet dubbed App Star for kids, priced at a hefty Rs 9,999. Now that’s an expensive toy for kids.The App Start tablet PC is for kids over 4 year of age. The tablet is already available in the UK and other European markets and comes loaded with a suite of apps designed for children. It is preloaded with educational apps and also some games. One will also find art studios, e-books, audio-books, music player and a camera with video recorder.
Yet another Android tablet for kids
The App Star sports a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen. On the connectivity front, it has Wi-Fi. Binatone claims that the battery life lasts for 4 hours. The tablet is powered by a 1GHz processor and 512MB of RAM. It has 4GB of internal storage, along with support for microSD card slot. It also gets a front-facing camera. A kids tablet without parental control features is quite unlikely. The App Star operates in two modes – “App Star” mode for kids and “parent” mode. The tablet reportedly comes with a with a secured password protected parental control built-in to the software to ensure time control and firewalled Internet browsing for kids.Binatone also plans to build a complete ecosystem for kids' tablets until Christmas. This ecosystem could have fun elements like Karaoke, Speaker dock, Racing Car, Helicopter and more.
