Assassins Creed: Black Flag Skull Edition, Buccaneer Edition coming to India

Assassins Creed: Black Flag Skull Edition, Buccaneer Edition coming to India

Ubisoft’s fourth installment in the Assassin’s Creed series, Black Flag, is all set for a November launch. While the much awaited game is still weeks away, it now looks like the game developers are offering a bunch of add-ons to India. Up for grabs now is the Assassins Creed: Black Flag, Skull Edition as well as the Buccaneer Edition. Before getting into the list of paraphernalia up on offer, let’s get the prices of the new editions out of the way. While the Skull Edition will be priced at Rs 5,999, the Buccaneer Edition will be available for Rs 7,999. Both editions will be compatible for the PlayStation 4, PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms. The Skull Edition, for the vaulted price tag, comes with a steel case (quite a cool one from what can be seen), two single-player missions titled “Hidden Mystery” and “Sacrificed Secrets” and an add-on called “Captain Kenway’s Legacy", that adds golden dual-wielding swords for use in single-player mode as well as in Treasure Hunter multiplayer costumes. Also packed in are two lithographs, the game’s artbook as well as the official soundtrack.

The Buccaneer Edition, on the other hand, will come with the Collector’s box, a 46cm figurine of Captain Edward Kenway (awesome) as well as another single-player mission titled “Black Island”, in addition to the other two missions. Gamers picking this edition will also get their hands on the golden dual-wielding swords, two lithographs, the official artbook and the soundtrack of the game. While the pricetag seems a bit high, the add-ons definitely should appeal to fans of the franchise. Black Flag, game play-wise, is slated to give players a much better open world experience. While the missions will be similar to those seen in the earlier games, there is going to be less restriction for the player during the game play. The world is going to open up sooner, and the landscapes will be more immersive, with players now working their way through jungles, forts, ruins and small villages. Players will also have the ability to engage, board and capture passing ships or swim to nearby beaches if the mood takes them. The hunting system seen in Assassin’s Creed 3 has been retained in the fourth installment, so players can look forward to not only hunting on land but also harpooning their prey in the water (fishing, redefined).
