Aircel launches unified data tariffs for 2G and 3G

Leading telecom player Aircel has now come up with new data plans for its customers across India that offers unified tariffs to users. According to these plans, customers will be allowed to use 2G and 3G services in the same pack. In a one-of-a-kind service pack, Aircel says users will be able to truly enjoy unified plans. “New set of mobile internet tariffs will offer complete flexibility to its customers to use 2G/3G services in the same pack. With this launch, Aircel becomes the first telecom operator in India to offer truly unified internet packs,” the company said in a press release.

The new tariff plans start as low as Rs 27, via which users will be able to enjoy 7 days of unlimited 2G and 3G data. Monthly plans from Aircel start at Rs 128 using which 2G and 3G customers will get 1GB of data with a validity of 30 days. The lower cost plans are reportedly aimed at customers who use their mobiles to check their social networking profiles, checking mails and browsing. The monthly packs are aimed at users who indulge in high data usage like downloading music, playing HD games and using apps. The company says that customers on its 2G networks will be able to avail these plans at 2G speeds while customers on 3G networks will be able to use the same plans on their 3G enabled phones. Late last month it was announced that Aircel has tied up with Micromax to offer bundled packages for smartphones and 3G dongles. Micromax and Aircel will now be sharing channel, retail networks and sales resources. In addition, both companies will also set up an integrated device sales activation programme. The smartphone manufacturer is also rolling out reverse bundling handset offers for new Aircel customers worth Rs 12,000.
