Batman: Arkham Origins is the third game in the popular Arkham series. Instead of being a direct sequel like Arkham City was, however, Arkham Origins will take place in the past. The game is set to document Wayne’s early days as Batman, when he was much more wreckless and less calculative than the Arkham Asylum and City iterations. The developers have playfully described the Asylum and Origins Batman as version 5.0, whereas the Origins Batman will be version 1.0.Instead of series-creator Rocksteady developing the game, however, Arkham Origins is being developed on by WB Games Montreal along with help from Splash Damage—a studio better known for developing fast-paced FPS games.Arkham Origins is hitting stores on October 26. It is also getting a tie-in game on the PlayStation Vita and the 3DS, titled Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate.
