Move over Subway Surfers and Temple Run. With the upcoming general elections looming ahead, here’s a game to make Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi run! After the buzz created by the Modi-branded smartphone named SmartNaMo, Modi Run is an Android game where you make the current Chief Minister of Gujarat run to win over India. The game has been developed by a US-based gaming company named Dexati and is available for free download on all Android phones running version 2.2 and up. The aim of the game is to make Modi run through Indian states in order to collect votes required to become the Prime Minister of India.
Make Modi run through states to win the elections
There are 12 levels in the game, all of them states that Modi has to run through to win the elections. If you’re expecting brilliant graphics with this game in the vein of Temple Run, be prepared for disappointment. Most of the game is played with a backdrop of landmark buildings and historical sites with an illustrated Modi jumping between Mario-style platforms. Despite its shortcomings, the game is sure to delight Bhartiya Janata Party supporters, and even the developers say so in the description. They took the opportunity to even mention that the game was not endorsed by Modi or the BJP and has been made as a “parody of Indian elections”. Modi Run has already been installed between 10,000-50,000 times on Android devices and is currently sporting a four-and-a-half star rating on the store. Modi-branding seems to be a great new way for manufacturers and app developers to cash in on the election mania. With Modi as the poster-boy for BJP and with a major backing of the social networking community of the country, it makes sense for developers.
