Indie horror game Lone Survivor making its way to PlayStation 3 and Vita

A shining example of survival horror, Lone Survivor, is making its way to the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. The console versions of the game will hit PlayStation Network on September 25, and will be a Director’s Cut edition featuring extra content.Much like the Silent Hill franchise, Lone Survivor: The Director’s Cut is a survival horror game that focuses as much on insanity, loneliness and isolation as it does on actual enemies. According to developer Jasper Byrne, the game was directly influenced by Silent Hill and psychological thrillers like Twin Peaks. Lone Survivor gives players many different ways to approach situations they encounter in the game. Avoid combat, or tackle your foes head on. Seek out companions or escape alone. Maintain your own sanity or risk falling into madness.

Byrne commented, “It’s been a lifelong dream of mine to release one of my games on a console, and it’s been amazing to watch it coming together in the last few months. Lone Survivor on the PlayStation has gone from a simple port to nearly a completely new game that I’m very proud of.”The Director’s Cut edition has a new lighting system that is better suited to the HD PS3 and the OLED Vita display. It also features hundreds of tweaks and changes to the original game including new dialogue, over twenty new items, new endings, trophies and secrets. The console release will mark the first time Lone Survivor has been available in other languages, with fully localised German and French text.

Currently, the PC version of the game is available on digital distribution platform Steam for $9.99 (Rs 632 approx).
