A picture is worth a thousand words for Twitter's embedded posts

Twitter seems to be on a roll as far as announcing changes to its services are concerned. The micro-blogging website has announced that it is going to put more focus on images on embedded tweets rather than the text now.In a blog post announcing the change, Brian Ellin, Product Manager, Platform at Twitter said that a lot of people all over the world – including the likes of publishers and journalists – share important images from Twitter via embedded tweets. Twitter wanted to ensure that the focus of these embedded tweets remained on images more than the text.

Thanks to this change, tweets with images in it will look a lot different when embedded. Images will now be placed above the text and will be a lot larger in size than before. Both landscape and portrait photos now have more room to show their pixels when the tweets are embedded online. Of course, to learn more about the tweet or read the conversations it sparked, you can click on the picture and head on to Twitter. This change will not affect how you can interact with the tweet. You will still be able to reply to it, favourite it and retweet it right from the publications’ website. Just this week, Twitter announced yet another new feature on the back of its filing for an IPO. The website is keen on helping out during times of crisis. It has added a feature to its mobile applications which will send you emergency messages using push notifications if you follow accounts that are registered with the website. Organisations like the UN and FEMA are some of those that can send you emergency messages now.
