I. Before You Begin:
1. You must have rooted your Nexus 4 before doing this procedure. Please head to our How to Root the Nexus 4 or this procedure and root your device first.
2. You must have ClockworkMod Recovery installed on your device. If you followed our root guide above, you have it already.
II. Downloading Required Files:
1. Faux Turbo Boost Ultimate Kernel (Download One Of Them) Source XDA
III. Overclocking the Nexus 4:
1. Download and place the Kernel archive on your Desktop.
2. Plug in your device to your PC using the USB cable.
3. Copy the Kernel file over to the root of your SD card.
4. Once the file’s been copied, unplug your device from your PC.
5. Now head over to Google Play and download and install the Quick Boot app on your device.
6. Once the app’s been installed, launch it from your App Drawer.
7. Hit Recovery option in the app and your device will reboot into Recovery mode.
8. From the Recovery menu, select wipe cache partition followed by Yes.
9. Now select advanced followed by Wipe dalvik cache.
10. Once it’s done, select install zip from sdcard followed by choose zip from sdcard.
11. Choose the Kernel ZIP you copied earlier to your device to be flashed.
12. It’ll start flashing the Kernel on your device.
13. Once it’s been flashed, reboot your device.
14. Now head over to Google Play and download and install the Faux App to change the CPU settings on your device.
15. You’re done!
Great! Your Nexus 4 has been equipped with faux kernel to enable overclocking. Now go ahead and play as many resource-intensive games on your device as you want, I’m sure you won’t face any issues!
