Root access allows installation of root-only apps whereas a custom recovery lets you flash custom ROMs on your device. With the combo of both of these, you can take your customizations to a greater extent. The Motorola Fire XT has been blessed with CWM Recovery and if you happen to own this device and have rooted it, the procedure below is all you need to get the CWM Recovery up and running on your device.
