Intex has launched a budget Android tablet in India which can give a close fight to various Phablets. The device runs on Android 4.0 ICS (the company could have given Android 4.1 Jelly Bean at least as it is the most common OS in budget phablets).
SPECIFICATIONS:
The tablet has a 7-inch (17.8 cms) display and boasts of 4GB ROM (built-in storage) expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card slot.It is loaded with an 1GHz dual-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. It houses a 3.2MP rear-facing camera and has a 1.3MP front facing camera. A 3500mAh battery powers the tablet which the company claims will last for 3 hours of video conferencing talk time and 300 hours of standby time. The tablet will come preloaded with a bunch of apps such as Nimbuzz, Skype and Facebook, Yahoo Messenger and GChat. The tablet also supports HDMI and Bluetooth. The Intex i-Buddy is available to users in two colours – black and brown.
With the tablet, Intex wants to target the K12 education segment as it features Educlass, a school application that offers preloaded NCERT text books for classes 1st to 12th, a repository of question banks and interactive content for various subjects.
The i-Buddy Connect 3G is available in black and brown color variants and will compete against the likes of theMicromax Funbook Talk P360 and the iBall Edu-Slide both of which are also targeted at students.
