The company has previously launched android smartphones powered a MediaTek chipset but this time they haven't attempted provisioning a MediaTek processor instead the XOLO A500 is powered by a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor.

Looking at the specifications there is hint that the device might not receive Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update; however the Lava XOLO A500 is capable of giving a tough competition to the smartphones falling under the similar range.

Karbonn A9+ carries similar specifications but with a better processor clocked at 1.2 GHz and a front camera of 1.3 MP.
