Onkyo only launched its first pair of headphones, the ES-HF300, earlier this year, but it is already following them up with two models designed specifically for iOS devices.
The on-ear ES-CTI300s share the same hi-fi inspired design as the HF300s, but now come in a choice of either black or silver, with leatherette earpads. They still use the excellent 40mm titanium drivers, paired with bass chambers for a more powerful low-end, and should compare favourably to their high-end counterparts.
The in-ear IE-CTI300s, meanwhile, use large 14.3mm dynamic drivers, set inside enclosures built from a combination of aluminium and ABS plastic.
Both pairs come with detachable oxygen-free 6N copper cables that use gold-plated MMCX connectors and gold-plated 3.5mm stereo jacks, which will let you swap out a damaged cable rather than replace the complete set of headphones. Each one has a three button inline remote with play/pause, volume and track skip controls, plus an integrated microphone to take calls.
The new models are due to go on sale in the UK from December onwards. Expect to pay £149.99 for the IE-CTI300 in-ears, or £199.99 for the ES-CTI300 on-ears.
