LG is working on international launch for G Flex with curved display

Late last month, LG announced the new G Flex smartphone with curved display. An LG spokesperson now confirms that the G Flex will hit markets across the globe in the near future, reports PhoneArena. This means that it could be the first phone with curved display to hit the global market, as its competitor the Samsung Galaxy Round is also only available in Korea. LG’s Vice Chairman Koo Bon-joon reportedly revealed that the company is in talks with carriers around the world, and the G Flex is expected to be available in the US, Japan and Europe. We even came across a video showing how flexible the G Flex can get. Take a look at the video below: Sporting a 6-inch display with 1280x720 pixel resolution, it is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor coupled with 2GB RAM. That's as powerful a combination as you will see in a smartphone these days. It has 32GB onboard storage and packs in a 3,500mAh battery. The design is vertical oriented as the phone is curved on the horizontal axis. According to LG, the design reduces the distance between the user’s mouth and microphone when the Flex is held against the ear.The G Flex was announced soon after Samsung launched the Galaxy Round, also with a curved display. We put both LG G Flex and Galaxy Round in the ring for a specs comparison to see who comes out on top. Unlike Flex, Galaxy Round is curved on vertical axis. The Round sports a slightly smaller 5.7-inch 1080p display. It is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core processor along with 3GB of RAM. The phone will be limited to South Korea, with some reports saying it is merely a prototype-level device with a small production run.
