Users of the mentioned device rejoice as you now have the ability to flash custom ROMs and Mods, something you haven’t been able to do until the port became available. In this guide, we’re gonna walk you through the steps on how you can install ClockworkMod Recovery on your HCL ME U1 tablet. Here you go:

I. Before You Begin:

1. You must have done our How to Root the HCL ME U1 procedure.
2. Your device should have at least 60% of battery life left.

II. Downloading Required Files:

III. Installing ClockworkMod Recovery on the HCL ME U1:

1. Place the ClockworkMod Recovery archive onto your Desktop.
2. Extract files from the archive to your Desktop. You’ll get the actual recovery.img file.
3. Connect your device to your PC using the USB cable.
4. Copy the recovery.img file over to the root of your SD card.
5. Once copied, unplug your device from your PC.
6. Download and install the Terminal Emulator app on your device using the link provided above.
7. Once installed, launch it from your App Drawer.
8. Type in following command into the app:
dd if=/mnt/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p3
9. It’ll flash the recovery on your device.
10. Once it’s done, reboot your device.
