HTC One Max with 5.9-inch display and fingerprint scanner is official

After a string of rumours and leaks, HTC has finally officially pulled the wraps off the One Max. An enlarged version of its flagship One smartphone, the One Max sports a large 5.9-inch display with 1080p resolution. The smartphone retains the One’s classy aluminium finish but gets much heavier, weighing in at 217 grams. It measures 164.5 x 82.5 x 10.3 mm, and also has the BoomSound speakers occupying some space on the front side. The One Max runs on Android 4.3, and gets a layer of the latest Sense 5.5, which adds a new level of customization for BlinkFeed. One of the biggest highlight of the One Max is the long-time rumoured fingerprint scanner, something we’ve recently seen in the iPhone 5S too.

Another difference from its predecessor is the expandable memory slot that lets users expand the 16GB or 32GB on-board memory with up to 64GB additional storage space. Most of its rumoured specs have come to reality including the quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor that clocks at 1.7GHz with 2GB of RAM that powers it. The One Max will support LTE networks in Europe and Asia, and also Verizon and Sprint in the US. Here’s a quick look at its specs sheet:

  • 5.9-inch 1080p display with 1080 x 1920 pixels of resolution

  • 3G, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, NFC, Infrared port

  • GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS

  • Bluetooth v4.0 with A2DP

  • 4MP Ultrapixel camera, 2.1MP front-facing camera

  • 16GB, 32GB onboard storage, expandable up to 64GB via microSD card slot

The global availability of the HTC One Max is expected to begin this week itself. However, there is no word on the pricing yet.
