Apple’s new iPhone offerings, the iPhone 5c and the iPhone 5s, are now up for pre-order in India. Both devices can be purchased from iBhejo, where the 16GB version of the 5c is listed at Rs 45,261. The 32GB variant of the same will set users back Rs 53,441. The 16GB version of the 5s is priced at Rs 60,955, while the 32GB variant comes with a price tag of Rs 69,135. The online retailer has also put up the 5c for pre-order on Junglee. While skimming through the marketplace we came across another retailer selling the 5c, grabmore. The second party is rolling out the 16GB variant of the 5c for a slightly higher price tag of Rs 47,999. The 5s, though, is being offered for a slightly cheaper price tag. The 16GB version is coming with a price tag of Rs 54,999. The 32GB version will set users back Rs 61,999. The difference in the price tag of the iPhone 5s between the two retailers is intriguing. Apple has gone on record to say that it sold 9 million new iPhones over the launch weekend. While the official break-up between the 5s and the 5c was not revealed, the demand of the latter seemed much higher than the former. The price at which the pre-orders are being positioned may be reflective of that. iBhejo has stated that new devices will be delivered within 20 to 25 days while grabmore has said that it will deliver the devices between October 6 and October 11.

The Mumbai grey market pricing of the iPhone 5c seems really good, with the device now coming with a price tag of Rs 38,000 for the 16GB variant, although we don’t know which colours will be up for grabs. The iPhone 5s is priced at Rs 59,000 and the only model up for grabs seems to be the black variant. A quick look at the specifications of the budget iPhone 5c reveals that the handset comes with a 4-inch Retina display. Internally, the device comes with an A6 chip and also packs an 8-megapixel iSight camera. The handset will run on iOS 7.0.1 out-of-the-box. The iPhone is designed around a single, hard-coated polycarbonate body with a steel frame thrown in. The iPhone comes with most of the usual connectivity options like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and rounds up the offering with a 1560mAh battery. The 5s, on the other hand, comes with a bunch of new features, with the pride of place going to the new 64-bit A7 processor running the show. The camera has also been worked on. The USP of the device is the Touch ID biometric sensor that is integrated with the smartphone.
