WeChat cashes in on Sachin mania with Tendulkar-themed stickers

Ever since Sachin Tendulkar announced his retirement from Tests, the country's cricket fans have only been talking in Tendulkar terms. Now, even WeChat has jumped on the bandwagon. In a move to take advantage of this craze WeChat has released a Master Blaster sticker pack for its users. Even though the stickers are obviously modeled after Tendulkar, the app never mentions the man by name. But the No 10 shirt and the curly mop of hair leave no doubt as to who the cricketer is. The stickers show the master blaster striking a pose while batting, fielding, cheering when he reaches a century and more. The sticker pack is available for free on WeChat already.

Facebook is another company that has jumped on to the localised sticker bandwagon, even if it’s a bit later than most cross-platform messaging apps. Besides this, Facebook also tied up with Hungama to put up Krrish 3 based stickers on its store.
