"Since the initial announcement back in February, pre-orders for PS4 have surpassed all expectations and we continue to work hard to fulfil the remainder of these pre-orders and to deliver additional consoles to the market for the many more gamers who want a PS4," Sony's UK managing director Fergal Gara said in a statement to trade site MCV. "Substantial further volumes of PS4 will arrive in the UK before Christmas."
While Gara wouldn't detail exactly how many consoles are going to hit shops ahead of Christmas Day, the promise of "substantial further volumes" should mean enough to satisfy outstanding pre-orders while ensuring that there's a reasonable stock on-shelves for those who prefer to wait post-launch to make a purchase.
