Xolo Q2000 quad-core phablet with 13MP camera launched for Rs 14,999

After giving us an early peek at the Q2000 yesterday, Xolo has now launched the phablet for Rs 14,999. It’s the largest device in the company’s smartphone portfolio and the specs aren’t half bad for the price.

The dual-SIM Q2000 sports a 5.5-inch HD IPS display with a resolution of 1280x720 pixels and pixel density of 267ppi. Under the hood, there’s a quad-core MT6589M-W processor clocked at 1.2GHz coupled with 1GB of RAM as well as a 357MHz PowerVR SGX544 GPU. This thing runs nearly stock Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean; expect some preloaded Xolo apps in the build.

The Q2000 comes with 8GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 32GB via a microSD card slot. The handset measures 156x77.8x9.8mm and weighs in at 180g. There’s a 2600mAh battery, which sounds ample considering the specs.

In terms of photography, there’s a 13-megapixel primary camera with a BSI 2 sensor, auto focus and flash support as well as a 2-megapixel front shooter. The camera also comes with image stabilisation, HDR, low light enhancement and vertical and horizontal Panorama capture. The Q2000 packs in most of the usual suspects like an accelerometer, an ambient light sensor and a proximity sensor. On the connectivity front, there’s Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and A-GPS support. The micro USB port supports USB on-the-go.

Xolo is throwing in a free flip cover and a USB OTG cable. Xolo had mentioned TDD-LTE in the official specifications yesterday, but that was an error. HSPA+ is the maximum cellular speed on the Q2000.

Here’s a quick look at the specifications of the X2000:

  • 5.5-inch HD IPS display, 1280x720 pixels, 267 ppi

  • HSPA+, 802.11 b/g/n, WLAN support
