Last week Motorola had revealed that the Android 4.4 KitKat update will be reaching Moto X users in a matter and weeks, and here it is. In an official blog post, Mototrola has now announced that the latest Android iteration is now rolling out in phases to Moto X on Verizon Wireless.
Google has released the update for Moto X within three weeks of the KitKat launch alongside the Nexus 5. It is also rolling out the OS update for Nexus 7 and Nexus 10. It should be noted that the company hasn’t released KitKat to all its Nexus devices yet, though, Google is said to be releasing the KitKat update for Nexus 4 devices in the coming weeks.
Moto X's looks can be heavily customised by users
The KitKat update brings a slew of improvements to the Moto X. An enhanced phone dialer will allow easy search for contacts directly from the dial-pad. It will add some cool effects such as Posterise, Highlights and Edges to the phone. It also includes a new Draw feature to annotate your photos freehand with your finger. The all new Hangouts app brings texts, video calls, and other chats all together in one app. Moreover, users can send animated gifs and share their location. Google has improved the stock Keyboard and also added some new emojis. The camera app has been upgraded to let users control both the focus and exposure of their photos. The right exposure and focus point can be set by simply dragging their finger on the screen. Currently rolling out only for Verizon Moto X users, Google said it would release Android 4.4 KitKat update for other carriers and countries soon.
