UK-based charity GamesAid has auctioned off an exclusive Launch Team Commemorative special edition Xbox One console, raising £5,000 for good causes via its Ebay Store.
The Xbox One will only be available in black when it launches on the 22nd of November here in the UK, with Microsoft making a limited run of white versions exclusively for members of the Xbox launch team. Each one is adorned with an "I Made This" inscription to the right of the disc tray, a special edition controller, Kinect sensor and Chat Headset, along with exclusive Day One and Launch Team achievements.
The white Xbox One was made as a commemorative console exclusively for members of the Xbox launch team. A member of the UK Xbox team, who wished to remain anonymous, wanted to use his special edition console to raise money for a worthy cause. GamesAid said it was "delighted" that it managed to raise £5,000, which will be used to support small UK-based children's charities.
"Someone is celebrating a very white Christmas! Many thanks to both Microsoft and their team member for a very generous donation and to the anonymous buyer who’s currently enjoying it," GamesAid said.
