While the gold iPhone 5s stole the show during the iPhone launch, Nexus 5 fans seem to have been smitten by the black version of the new Google phone. The 16GB Black model of the highly anticipated Nexus 5 that went up on sale in India via Google Play Store this morning is sold out. The 16GB Nexus 5 is priced at Rs 28,999 and the 32GB variant at Rs 32,999, but the latter is still in stock. Both models were made available in black and white options. Moreover, Mumbai retailer, Mahesh Telecom, tells us that it received the stock of 16GB black and white models last night and by this noon all the units were sold out.
Along with the Nexus 5, the 16GB and 32GB variants of Nexus 7 are also on sale at the Google Play Store. The 16GB model of Nexus 7 is priced at Rs 20,999 and 32GB variant is on sale for Rs 23,999. The Wi-Fi+3G version of the tablet is also available for Rs 27,999.

LG’s official retail outlets had already started selling the 16GB variant of the Nexus 5, albeit at a price of Rs 29,999, which is Rs 1,000 more than Google’s official pricing for the device. A quick look at the specs of the handset shows a 4.95-inch IPS display with 1920x1080 pixels of resolution. Under the hood, the device packs Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 800 SoC clocked at 2.3GHz, and coupled with 2GB of RAM. The best part of the smartphone is probably the fact that it's the first one to come with the latest iteration of Android, version 4.4 KitKat.On the camera front, the smartphone comes with an 8-megapixel snapper as well as a 1.3-megapixel front shooter. The handset also comes with Optical Image Stabilisation and HDR+ mode, among other features. The device measures in at 69.17x137.84x8.59 mm and weighs 130g. Connectivity is taken care of with support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS integrated. Rounding up the offering is a 2300mAh battery, which could turn out to be a deal breaker for many.
