New MacBook Pro users head to Apple's support communites to complain of issues

While Apple’s new Intel Haswell-powered Macbook Pro series was launched just last week, disgruntled users are already turning to the Support Communities forum to talk about a host of issues. The problems, from what can be seen as of now, revolve around three faults: an unresponsive system freeze, keyboard issues including unresponsive shortcut keys and an unusable trackpad. The first user on the thread, named kyawlin, took to the community on Monday to say, "I have just got my new Macbook Pro Retina 13 Haswell (October Model). This is my second day of usage and i have encountered sudden system freeze for two times already." Another user, haochuanfromhkg replied saying, "I have met the same problem too! I have been using my Macbook for two days. And I have encountered sudden freeze for four times!"

And these are just a few of the complaints that can be seen from users who are experiencing the same problem. From what's known, the problems seem temporary and last for 10 or 15 minutes before becoming stable again. Users have also said that while the laptop is unresponsive, the power button still works so every time the problem surfaces, restarting the machines seems to be one way to fix the issue. That being said, manually restarting your machine every time it hangs is obviously a tedious affair and it seems like there has not been any solution given by Apple yet.

The company was last in the news during the October event where it unveiled the latest 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro series with the latest Intel chips inside. Apple, at the time, had said that the new chipset would make the laptops up to 90 percent faster than their predecessors. The updated 13-inch MacBook Pro, which is starting at Rs99,900, weighs in at 1.62kgs and measures 19mm in thickness. You can read our comparison to see what is different in the new laptop. The 15-inch MacBook Pro, on the other hand, weighs in at a heavier 2.02kg and measures 18mm in thickness. Packed with the latest hardware, the gadget comes with a new Crystal Iris Pro graphics chip, 8GB of RAM, a 256SSD, Wi-Fi 801.11ac support and is available for Rs 1,49,900.
