Google is one step closer to opening an app store for the Glass. The company has started off the Glassware Review Process, through which users can develop and submit apps for the wearable. Currently, however, the review process is only available to those owning the Explorer Edition of Glass. To get started, developers simply have to make sure that their app meets Google's requirements listed on the Distributing Glassware documentation.Coinciding with the announcement, a number of apps have been released for Google Glass. These apps include Fancy, KitchMe, Mashable, SportsYapper and Thuuz.

Quite a few apps have been demonstrated for Glass so far. A particularly interesting one was shown off last month, which makes car maintenance much easier than it usually is. The new app will fuse all the benefits of having a step-by-step manual and Google’s search engine strapped on to your face. It will be able to lead you through the repair process of any kind of engine or car part. The app has been developed by augmented reality tech makers Metaio.So far, the only real way to figure out what is wrong with your car is to grab a do-it-yourself manual. Users will then have to go via a step-by-step instruction set to change the brake oil for example, or alter the compression ratio and replace a timing belt. Alternatively, a simple Google search can now give you all the information you need about fixing your car. The idea, though, of setting up a laptop or desktop in your workshop may not be a viable option, keeping in mind the oil and engine grime.
