If you think India is very underrepresented in the world of gaming, here's a surprise: developer Gamiana Digital Entertainment has launched a new game, Vinashi, which the studio claims to be the world's first strategy game based on Indian history. The game's setting is 16th century India. To play the game, you can simply go to either the official website or through Facebook's apps. Despite being "officially launched", however, the game seems to be incomplete, with some options that are supposedly "coming soon". It also features a strange UI that is laggy and filled with poor design decisions.
Everything is better with elephants!
Since it is a free-to-play game, the company sustains itself through the liberal use of microtransactions. Most, if not all, of the extras have to be bought with real money, rather than earning it through gameplay. The game does, however, have some interesting options. For example, the game follows the Civilization formula of letting players pick a type of civilisation, which will decide what bonuses the player gets. It can be something like better soldiers, or even something as simple as faster building and upgrading times. It also has social features. A global chat window is open at all times with which players can communicate with each other as well as the support staff. Players can also form alliances, using which they can crush the empires of other players. There are also leaderboards, which compare the scores of different players, as well as a dedicated forum for discussing the game.
