Lenovo launches four new smartphones in India starting at Rs 5,499

Lenovo has launched four new A-series smartphones in the Indian market. All four phones, dubbed A269i, A369i, A516 and A850, come in the price range between Rs 5,500 and Rs 16,000.


The most expensive among the four is the Lenovo A850 priced at Rs 15,999. It’s a phablet with a large 5.5-inch HD IPS display that supports 178 degree wide-view. Under the hood, one will find that it's powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor. This dual-SIM phablet runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. It has a 5 megapixel rear snapper with LED flash and a 0.3 megapixel front-facing camera. The Lenovo A516 is all set to compete with the mid-range smartphone segment priced at Rs 10,999. Sporting a 4.5-inch IPS display, it is powered by a 1.3 GHz dual core processor coupled with 512MB of RAM. It runs on the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system. On the camera front, it comes with a 5 megapixel rear shooter and a VGA front-facing camera. The 4GB of on-board storage is expandable via a microSD card slot. Lenovo lets users pick the A516 in Charcoal Grey and White colours.

Next in the line is the Lenovo 369i budget smartphone. Priced at 6,999, it gets a 4-inch display. The dual-SIM smartphone is powered by 1.3GHz dual core processor with 512MB of RAM. It comes with 4GB of on-board storage. The budget phone also lets you expand the storage further via microSD card slot. It runs on Android OS but the version of the OS is not known yet.


The cheapest among the launches is the A269i priced at Rs 5,499. The A269i comes with a 3.5-inch HVGA display. It runs on older Android 2.3.6 version, and some other specs include 1GHz dual core processor and microSD card slot.


With these new launches, looks like Lenovo is planning to strengthen its Android smartphone lineup in the low to mid-range competitive smartphone market in India.
