Apple announces iPhone 5C, low-end iOS smartphone






After pretty much rumors and leaks, without any surprise, Apple has made it's first low-end iOS smartphone official. As the previous leaks suggested, the phone comes with the Apple's 2012 flagship, iPhone 5's internals in a ploycarbonate body with various color options.

The smartphone will pack an Apple A6 chipset, four-inch Retina display of the same 640 x 1136 pixel density, 16 and 32 gigabytes of internal storage options, eight megapixels primary camera with 1080p video recording quality and iOS 7 on board. 

The phone nine millimeters in thickness compared to the 7.6 mm on iPhone 5 and weighs about 132 grams where the iPhone 5 goes only a 112g. The company has skipped the high-end aluminium and brought in the hard-coated polycarbonate chassis this time, this new Apple creation also comes in a various color options, from Blue, White, Yellow, Pink and Green.

The smartphone is scheduled for pre-orders from September 13th and priced at $99 for the 16 gigabytes variant and $199 for the 32 gigs variant. The Apple iPhone 5C will first launch in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Germany, France, China, Japan and Singapore on September 20th.
