Instapaper for iOS 7Betaworks recently acquired the successful iOS read-it-later app Instapaper. The app basically presented users with their saved articles in an easy-to-read format. iOS 7’s imminent release, though, has spurred the company to update the app with a fresh new look. The Instapaper variant for Android should also get similar changes soon. In the updated version, Betaworks has added the ability to sort the user’s reading queue by date, an article's length, popularity, or even shuffle them into a random order. Users can also arrange articles based on Instapaper's best guess on how long they might take to read. The company has even packed in a "video" tab for clips users may have saved from YouTube or Vimeo. Instapaper will now come with support for 13 new languages, including Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Italian, Turkish, Russian, Dutch, and Polish are all included. The update has already been submitted to Apple for release. Skype for Windows 8.1Microsoft has now announced a pre-release version of Skype for Windows 8.1. The new version, according to the company, will ensure that users will never miss a message. Apart from being able to see missed calls and instant messages, Skype for Windows 8.1 will let users answer calls directly from their lock screen. The same feature can be accessed from the Start screen as well. And users can also pick how they want to respond, either with a video call, an audio call, a simple IM. They can also decline the call if they see fit. The new version not only allows users to call anyone from their People app and pinned favorites, but will also allow click-to-call directly through Internet Explorer. The update also comes with app-to-app launching. This basically means that Skype will automatically move to the side when users click on a link or shared item for easier multi-tasking. You can even adjust the size of the window while using Skype. These new features are not out yet though, because, well Windows 8.1 isn’t out yet. The company has still not announced when it plans to officially release Skype for Windows 8.1, but it is assumed that it will be up by the time the free operating system update starts rolling out.
