Next time Nimbuzz users are talking about a movie or brunch, they don’t have to stop chatting in order to search for a particular restaurant or movie theater. The cross platform messaging app has now added a new feature that enables users to search and share content within the app. With the new update, users can search for nearby restaurant or movie theatre directly from chat and also share specific listing with chat recipients with a simple “swipe and share” gesture. This also means they will be able to search and share videos, movies, restaurants, places, events and more without leaving a conversation. Nimbuzz has teamed up with Sprylogic to power the “search and share” functionality.
New search and share feature
Nimbuzz has over 150 million users and believes that more and more people search for content via mobile devices. In a blog post, the company has said, “Smartphone owners are searching a lot more from their mobile devices. Active users conduct more than 60 mobile searches per month, but we know you don’t want to leave the conversation to initiate a search, especially when you have an intent to act upon, based on the results of the search, such as going to see a movie, meeting at a restaurant, or attending an event with friends.”The new Nimbuzz update is an in-app enhancement that is simple and easy to use. It is currently free to use and not optimised for monetization. Recently, it had partnered with Internet service provider Spectranet to launch a new low cost Internet-powered international calling platform with rates as low as one paisa per second.
