Lenovo announces S930 and S650 mid-range smartphones

After announcing its flagship smartphone, the Vibe X, Lenovo has now shored up its mid-range line-up with two new offerings. The Chinese company has unveiled the Lenovo S930 and the Lenovo S650. Both will be available by the end of December; the Lenovo S650 has been priced at $366 (Approx Rs 22,000) and the Lenovo S930 will carry a price tag of $427 (Approx Rs 26,000).The Lenovo S930 is the higher-end of the two. It comes with a 6-inch display and will likely compete with Samsung’s Galaxy Mega 6.3 and the Huawei Ascend Mate. Its display boasts 720p resolution. At the back, there's an 8MP camera, surprisingly without a flash, while a 1.6MP camera is on the front.

Inside the Lenovo S930 ticks a MediaTek 6852 chip with a 1.3GHz quad-core CPU with a Mali-400MP and 1GB of RAM. Internal memory is just 8GB, but it's expandable thanks to the onboard memory card slot. Thankfully, there’s a large 3,000mAh battery in the S930, which should enable all-day usage. The Lenovo S650 is the smaller smartphone with a 4.7-inch qHD display with a pixel density of 234 PPI. This is very similar to the S930. Internally too, there’s not much difference between the two. The same 1.3GHz quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU on a MediaTek chipset powers the S650. Internal memory is also 8GB with a microSD card slot on board. Inside it, there's a 2,000mAh battery. The S650 will be available in a dual-SIM slot version, too.
