BlackBerry is bringing in the festive season with a 25-day offer where BlackBerry 10 users will be able to get their hands on a premium app for free. The freebie offer started on December 1 and will go on all the way till the Christmas day. Announcing the offer, Donny Halliwell, Blog Manager for InsideBlackBerry put up a blog post about 25 Days of Gifts Essentially, if you have a BlackBerry 10 device, you can head on to BlackBerry World and download a premium application that would have earlier cost a good amount of money.
Apps for everyone
You can get access to a premium selection of apps, movies, and games all the way till Christmas. However, each of these app offers expire within 24 hours, only to be replaced with a new app. So, you will need to check the app store everyday in order to be able to get your hands on some paid apps for free.BlackBerry kicked off the proceedings of the 25 Days of Gifts festive offer with Angry Birds Seasons yesterday. The premium application that usually cost Rs 50 was available for free till last night. You will be able to get this offer if you own a BlackBerry Z10, Q10, Z30, Q5 or Porsche Design P’9982. According to reports, BlackBerry is also on its way to launching another offer for BB10 users in December. Called “Hello Winter $0.99 Sale,” the Canadian company will be offering certain apps at a discounted rate throughout December. "BlackBerry World has over 1,40,000 apps for BB10 OS. India in particular has been a robust growth market for us from an apps standpoint, so I am confident that we will see tremendous traction with these offers," a Spokesperson for BlackBerry told PTI.As far as India goes, sources are claiming that 27 to 30 percent of BlackBerry’s sale in India is through devices powered by the BB10 platform. The devices are priced anywhere between Rs 22,000 and Rs 44,000.
