With the first wave of Xbox Ones so close to release, Microsoft has released a video featuring Yusuf Mehdi and Marc Whitten from the Xbox One team as they give a live demonstration of the console's interface and features. Unsurprisingly, the interface seems to be entirely based on Windows 8. Check out the 12-minute video:
The video shows off the new Kinect's ability to recognise players. It was automatically able to notice Whitten and Medhi holding controllers, and signed them into Xbox Live without them having to do anything. Both of them to switch to their own customised Xbox One homescreens by saying "Show my stuff".After demonstrating some of the features of the Kinect, the video moves on to talking about Xbox Live. First up on the list is GameDVR, which can be activated by doing something as simple as by saying "Xbox record". The clip made from this can then be instantly edited with features such as picture-in-picture using the Kinect and even Instagram-esque video filters.

The video then goes on to show some of the TV-centric features, such as the Xbox Guide and the ability to make your own channels with both TV content as well as apps like Netflix.The Xbox One has seen quite a bit of controversy, especially with the earlier announcement that it would require players to sign it at least once every 24 hours to be able to play their games. Thankfully, Microsoft decided against the idea.The console is getting released in its first set of countries this month and costs $499. The next set of countries to get the console is currently unknown.
