Hot on Apple's trail, HTC and Nokia roll out buyback schemes for high-end smartphones

HTC has now rolled out a special upgrade offer for its One series of smartphones for the Indian user. Strikingly similar to the iPhone 4s and 5c buyback scheme, HTC promises that users will be able to get a certain minimum cashback offer for upgrading to the HTC One or One mini by exchanging their older smartphones. Users upgrading to HTC One dual SIM, will receive a minimum of Rs. 5,200 cashback on their older smartphone. Users who want to exchange an older phone for the HTC One mini can avail a minimum discount of Rs 4,300 on the official price tag. It is worth noting that the HTC One Dual SIM is currently selling for Rs 46,331 and One mini for Rs 32,999. The offer is valid until December 31, 2013 and can be availed across the nation. Banks like Citibank, HDFC, ICICI, Induslnd bank and Standard Chartered bank are also offering an additional 4 percent cash back offer on EMI schemes spanning 6 months.
