Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag to get multiplayer DLC with Blackbeard

With less than a month having passed by since the release of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, Ubisoft seems to be planning some expansion of the game’s multiplayer. According to Eurogamer, the game will be getting some multiplayer-centric DLC where the player will get to step into the shoes of infamous pirate Blackbeard. There are references to the DLC in some of the game's trophies for the PlayStation 3 version which recently popped up on PS3Trophies.org. For example, The "Queen Anne's Revenge" trophy is awarded to those who perform an acrobatic kill and a gun kill in less than 10 seconds while playing Blackbeard. There will be two more playable characters added to the multiplayer in the DLC—the Jaguar and the Orchid.

Lead game designer for the multiplayer of Assassin's Creed 4, Tim Browne, has confirmed the existence of the DLC through Twitter.Sadly enough, Ubisoft hasn't revealed any more details about the story-centric Freedom Cry DLC, in which players will step into the shoes of Edward Kenway's first mate Adewale. Trophy information, however, has popped up with trophies such as Liberation Day, where you have to free your first slave and Firepower, where you have to kill five guards at once with a blunderbuss.Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag made its way to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 back in September. The game features pirate Edward Kenway as the main protagonist, and is based around the golden age of piracy. It expands on the ship sailing mechanics that were originally introduced in Assassin’s Creed 3.
