After all the hype and speculation, Apple looked to be playing it safe by releasing an updated iPhone 5 in the form of the Apple iPhone 5S. However as upgrades go this is a blinder with the world's first 64-bit smartphone processor, great new camera functions and a fingerprint reader for security. It's another big step forward for smartphones.
If you're buying a new iPhone or just have an existing model, or iPad for that matter, then you'll probably already have Apple iOS 7. The new operating system has a major, and long overdue, graphical facelift but there's lots more beside. Read our in-depth review to find out all the latest features and shortcuts on offer.
We recently took a remote-control car to our local woods to test many of the action cams currently on sale. One of our top picks was the Drift Innovation HD Ghost which is tough, waterproof, well-designed and easy to use.
The Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-RX100 II takes a big sensor and squeezes both it and a zoom lens in a very compact casing - no mean feat. Yes it's expensive but it's a lot of camera for the money and we'd love to own one.
Philips makes some technically-excellent TVs that also look stunning when turned off. The Philips 46PFL8008S is no exception. the big selling point is still Ambilight, with back-mounted lights that create complimentary lighting to the action onscreen, it may not be new but it's still impressive. A great TV if you're looking for something a little bit different.
Last but not least we have our new favourite compact ultra-zoom, the Canon PowerShot SX280 HS has excellent photo and video quality plus a raft of extras such as Wi-Fi and GPS tagging.
