Meet the Z1's sibling: 4.3-inch Xperia Z1 f

Crafting mini versions of high-end smartphones is becoming sort of a trend. Previously we’ve seen mini versions of the Galaxy S4 and HTC One, and now the next in line is the latest Xperia Z1. The Xperia Blog got hold of a specs sheet as well as pictures of the new handset dubbed Sony Xperia Z1 f (SO-02F). This is believed to be the ‘Honami mini’ that has been rumoured heavily since the Xperia Z1 popped its head. According to the leaked documents, the Zperia Z1 f or mini will sport a smaller 4.3-inch 720p LCD display. It will come with the same Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor as the original Xperia Z1. It retains the 20.7 megapixel rear camera from the Z1 and could also feature the same glass and metal waterproof body. According to the specs, this will run a modified version of Android 4.2.2. It includes a 2300mAh battery and 16GB storage.

The mini version is said to measure 127 x 64.9 x 9.4mm with 20 percent lesser surface area compared to its predecessor, but appears to be slightly thicker than the Z1. The leak also shows four color options for the Z1 f - black, white, red and yellow. It’s been just two weeks that Sony launched the Z1 in the Indian market for Rs 44,990. But we have no inkling as to when the Z1 f will hit markets.

Here’s a quick look at all the key of the Sony Xperia Z1:
