Lenovo Vibe Z spotted; 5.5-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 800 under the hood

Lenovo is back in the news, this time with a new handset that boasts of some top-end specs. Lenovo annnounced the Vibe X at an event over the weekend in Beijing, but another device going by the codename Vibe Z was spotted by GSM Insider. While the Vibe X was announced by the company at IFA 2013 last month, this is the first time that we have been able to get a closer look at the Vibe Z.A host of images have now popped up on cnmo.com that reveal its specifications. From what can be seen, it looks like the design of the new device has a lot in common with the Vibe X and the phone has a metal frame. In terms of specifications, the Vibe Z comes with a 5.5-inch display with a full HD resolution of 1920x1080 pixels.

Internally, the device is set to come with a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 SoC as well as an Adreno 330 GPU. The device also comes with 2GB of RAM. An interesting tidbit from the GSM Insider reveals that the Vibe Z was able to score more than 34,000 points on AnTuTu Benchmark. The new device, from all the specifications as well the codename looks like the successor to the company’s earlier K900 smartphone. There is still no word on how much internal memory the smartphone will come with, the connectivity options or the battery. Lenovo still has not officially announced the smartphone. That means that details like the prospective launch dates and pricing are still missing for now. Hopefully, we'll see an official announcement soon.
