Google Doodle gets mini-games to celebrate Halloween

Halloween, or All Saints Eve, celebrated on October 31 is supposed to have a tradition of fun where people dress up as ghouls, ghosts and all things scary for fun. Google too has joined in the celebrations this year with an interactive doodle that also features several mini-games. You play as the witch-with a crooked nose in the doodle. The first order of the day is to brew a potion with any two objects out of the given four. You can choose between a bone, a skull, a poisoned apple and a tiny bottle with a brew inside. When you put two of these together in the potion, you’re shown some fun Halloween themed mini games.

By brewing a potion, you can play games like whack-a-mole, where you’ve to hit the ghouls emerging out of holes, a shell game that involves you searching for the correct coffin with a mummy inside out of the given three and even shine a torch to find a ghost. There’s also a game where you have to help ghosts escape. Adding to the atmosphere is the eerie background music playing in the background. There are multiple permutations and combinations you can use to kick off a mini-game, so you pretty much have a whole day’s worth of fun matter for Halloween. There’s no real ending to the game or scores, so you can just keep playing for fun.

Halloween has a Western Christian as well as Celtic origin and is supposed to be a day to remember the dead, saints and martyrs. Largely celebrated as a secular holiday in the western world now, festivities for the day include dressing up in costumes, trick-or-treating, and carving jack-o’-lanterns.
