The dust on the new iPhone launched has barely settled, and news around the iPhone 6 has already started hitting headlines. A few days before Apple pulled the wraps off the coveted iPhone 5C and 5S, reports about Apple already testing larger displays had surfaced. The company was reportedly looking for varying sizes up to 6-inches, possibly to enter the phablet market. While many people believe that Apple is finally ready to take the plunge in the phablet market to compete with arch rival Samsung, some believe that the company will not opt for massive screen sizes. In a note to the investors, Jefferies Analyst, Peter Misek, predicts that the next iPhone iteration or lets say the iPhone 6 could come with a 4.8-inch display. The prediction hasn’t come out of thin air. He has zeroed on this screen size after his meetings meet with several Apple suppliers who are based in Asia.

Apple has been loyal to the 3.5-inch display for a really long time, since the first iPhone was launched way back in 2007. We saw a slightly larger display of 4-inches in the iPhone 5. In fact, the same size has been retained by its latest model – iPhone 5s. If Apple opts for 4.8-inch display, it will be the biggest display size in the history of the iPhones.
