The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt to have animated storybooks and flash backs to help players

In case you were worried that you would get lost in the vastness of the world of upcoming RPG The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, developer CDProjekt has your back. According to Polygon, the company revealed at Eurogamer Expo that The Witcher 3 will have an animated and narrated storybook and flashback sequences to help players keep up with the game's confusing main storyline and side-plots.The developers are aiming to solve pacing issues and problems faced by over-complexity and repetitiveness through flashbacks. The animated storybook, found in the game's menus, will also help in this regard. This has been done because the developers claim that The Witcher 3 will be approximately 35 times the size of 2011's The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings, which had a complex plotline itself.

Taverns seem to be as seedy as ever

To help with pacing, The Witcher 3's regions will have "event clusters" which will break up the rhythm of missions by giving simple objectives. Pacing will also be improved by use of quests, which include monster hunting and minigames. These will be divided into different types across the various in-game regions. These missions will also help break up the monotony that is generally found in open-world games. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be available on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. As is usual for CDProjekt, the PC version will be getting special treatment, the highlights of which include the complete lack of any DRM (unless you pick it up from digital distribution service Steam, which will have the Steamworks DRM) and free DLC.
