Nexus 5 log file reveals more specs

While we have already got a pretty clear picture of what the LG Nexus 5 is supposed to come with, a new leak has now revealed most of the internals of the pure-Google phone. The leak, in the form of a log, was dug up by Myce.com and came with all the details. First off, there seems to be confirmation that the handset will come with a 5-inch display with a pixel density of 442ppi. Internally, the device is going to come with a Snapdragon 800 SoC as well as 2GB of RAM. The model also comes with 16GB of internal memory. That being said, it is hoped that the company will plan a few more models with bigger storage. The phone was also shown to be running Android 4.4 KitKat build version KRS74H in the log.On the camera front, the shooter seems to have been changed to an 8-megapixel primary camera. There is no word on optical image stabalisation yet. Also packed in is a 1.2-megapixel front camera. In terms of connectivity, the device should come with all the usual suspects like Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC as well as GPS connectivity. While the leaked log file came from a model that ran on North American LTE bands, there is expectation that a European model will also come out, according to the source.

The handset is also said to come with wireless charging built in. While there was no word on the battery capacity in the leaked logs, earlier reports point to a 2,300mAh battery being expected. The log even came with a complete list of sensors expected, including an accelerometer, magnetometer, gyroscope, proximity and light sensors as well as a barometer. FCC documents have measured the device to be 131.9mm tall and 68.2mm wide.

There is no word on the thickness of the device, though. While there is no official word from the company about the launch dates, an Amazon listing by case maker SPIGEN has stated that the Nexus 5 should be out by October 31. While this is not official, if the claim is true, it could mean that we will be seeing the next Nexus smartphone around a month from now.
