Google Keep may soon get integration with Google Drive, video-playback

Even while it was almost a given ever since its launch that Google Keep would eventually be fused with Google Drive, it has not happened yet. A recent code discovery, though, has found plans for future integration of the two services.According to a report by Google Operating System, a few lines of code discovered in Keep has hinted at the fact that there could be a future integration of Google’s applications – in a much broader way than previously thought of. Upcoming features in the code talk about being able to upload any file to Google Drive and add a note to it and the ability to preview that file using Google Driver Viewer or open it using various applications.

The code that hints at an integration soon

There was a code discovered that will let you add videos –YouTube URLs or ones uploaded to Google Drive – and play them from within the note-taking service! The codes were discovered in the Chrome app version of Google Keep, but the publication has claimed that there are similar references in the desktop Google Keep web app too.The note-taking service from Google was launched in March this year with a snippy, yet neat user interface. It was first made available for Android devices running version 4.0.3 and up with the promise that it would be made available on Google Drive from your desktops soon too. Google Keep is currently trying to go head on against the likes of Evernote and Simplenote, with the latter finally gaining an Android application last week. Evernote, on the other hand has made its presence felt on multiple platforms. Besides a quick integration with Google Drive, Keep needs an iOS application to satiate Apple users as well. For an ambitious note-taking app, having just an Android and Chrome version just doesn’t cut it.
