Unboxing the XOLO Play Tegra Note

Today, we unbox the first Tegra 4 tablet to hit the Indian market and it’s from none other than XOLO. The XOLO Play Tegra Note is expected to go on sale in a couple of days for a sum of Rs 17,999, according to their site. We managed to get the final retail unit before launch day and we’ve put together a little unboxing video for you, along with a quick tour of the tablet. The XOLO Play Tegra Note is powered by a 1.8GHz Nvidia Tegra 4 Cortex A15 processor. The site hasn’t mentioned which version of Android it will run. The tablet is also known to come bundled with a slide cover that flips and bends to act like a kickstand, and can be set up in three distinct positions.
  • Take a quick look at some of its specifications:
  • 7-inch IPS display with 1280 x 800 pixels of resolution
  • Wi-Fi
  • Bluetooth v4.0
  • GPS
  • 5-megapixel rear camera, 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera
  • 16GB onboard storage, expandable via microSD card slot
One of the key highlights of Nvidia’s Tegra Note platform is the DirectStylus technology that can significantly enhance passive stylus performance. So, one can expect a responsive stylus and a slew of apps to take advantage of it. Reportedly, even the top portion of the stylus is touch sensitive and can be used as a brush, and also acts as an eraser when aligned in line with the screen. Removing the DirectStylus from its holding compartment activates the stylus-related apps. While you wait for our final word on the XOLO Play, here’s a quick specifications comparison with similarly priced competitors like the new Google Nexus 7 and the iPad mini.
